BERDS - BERkeley EneRgy Disaggregation Data Set
نویسندگان
چکیده
We first review some of the suggested methods for energy disaggregation. We then provide a real-life data set for researchers to help developing novel energy disaggregation algorithms. We also present a publicly available experimental data set captured from a typical building on the University of California, Berkeley campus.

REDD: A Public Data Set for Energy Disaggregation Research
Energy and sustainability issues raise a large number of problems that can be tackled using approaches from data mining and machine learning, but traction of such problems has been slow due to the lack of publicly available data. In this paper we present the Reference Energy Disaggregation Data Set (REDD), a freely available data set containing detailed power usage information from several home...
متن کاملHow good is good enough? Re-evaluating the bar for energy disaggregation
Since the early 1980s, the research community has developed ever more sophisticated algorithms for the problem of energy disaggregation, but despite decades of research, there is still a dearth of applications with demonstrated value. In this work, we explore a question that is highly pertinent to this research community: how good does energy disaggregation need to be in order to infer characte...
متن کاملIs disaggregation the holy grail of energy efficiency? The case of electricity
This paper aims to address two timely energy problems. First, significant low-cost energy reductions can be made in the residential and commercial sectors, but these savings have not been achievable to date. Second, billions of dollars are being spent to install smart meters, yet the energy saving and financial benefits of this infrastructure – without careful consideration of the human element...

متن کاملA comparison of non-intrusive load monitoring methods for commercial and residential buildings
Non intrusive load monitoring (NILM), or energy disaggregation, is the process of separating the total electricity consumption of a building as measured at single point into the building’s constituent loads. Previous research in the field has mostly focused on residential buildings, and although the potential benefits of applying this technology to commercial buildings have been recognised sinc...
